What is the Chris Morgan Fund?
Chris Morgan was a Youth for Christ gap year student from 1989 to 1991 and was based in Reading and then St Germain’s Church in Birmingham. Tragically, Chris died on his way home having shared the gospel with a group of unchurched young people on a weekend away.
Just before his death Chris told his parents
“These two years with YFC have been the best of my life”.
The Chris Morgan fund was set up in his memory so that others could also experience taking a year out with YFC.
Become a Chris Morgan Partner
We believe that God is calling us to recruit new gap year volunteers from backgrounds and areas of Britain that we haven’t reached before, but to do this we need your financial help. Many of the young people from these backgrounds or areas won’t be able to afford the fees of taking part in a gap year but we don’t believe they should miss out.
Each summer we have an intake of around 30-50 gap year volunteers who join us for one or two years. Our hope is that The Chris Morgan Fund will enable us to increase the number of ethnic backgrounds represented on the YFC One course.
We are asking you to consider becoming a Chris Morgan Partner today. You can do this by giving monthly or a one off donation to support the bursary fund. Your gift will directly support a young person’s growth and we guarantee that every single penny of your money will be used for this purpose.
