Throughout 2017, Youth for Christ are pursuing Jesus through an intentional Year of Prayer, #Pray365. This is a declaration that we are resolutely committed to following Him and surrendering to Him, no matter what the cost. YFC have committed to covering 365 days in prayer – interceding before God for young people in this nation.

As part of #Pray365, we are holding our first YFC Prayer day. The event will be held at the church of St Martin in the Bullring in Birmingham on June 14th. We have the privilege of Pete Greig from 24/7 Prayer joining us to speak and sung worship will be led by Nick Herbert from Worship Central.

It will be a time when Youth for Christ supporters, staff and volunteers come together to humble ourselves before God; seeking His leadership through creative prayer stations, intercession and listening to God’s truth over this nation.

2 Chron7:14 says ‘If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land’. We would be delighted if you would come and stand with us as we pray for a land filled with 13 million young people.

Prayer is the heartbeat of Youth for Christ.

In John chapter 15 Jesus tells His disciples that He is the Vine and they are the branches. “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me” John 15 v 4.

At Youth for Christ we have developed a culture of prayer because we acknowledge that, like the disciples, we need to stay connected to Jesus in everything that we do. As followers of Jesus we also pray because we have a relationship with Him and therefore need to speak to Him and listen for His voice each day.

We use our time, gifts, energy and efforts to reach young people in Britain with the Good News but we know that it is God who works through us. As we pray we express our thanks and praise to God and humbly present our requests to Him.

This January we begin #Pray365 – A whole year of prayer where we, as the British YFC family, commit to interceding before God for young people in this nation each day, whilst growing the discipline of prayer and fasting. It brings collaborative focus and unity of mind as we make an intentional choice to ‘Seek God’ with all we are and have – nothing held back, everything surrendered. As YFC, we are intentionally going on a journey to grow a culture of prayer and deepen our relationship with Jesus.
